The King’s Mountain Mitts are one of five patterns in Independent Fabrication, a collection of accessory patterns knit in small-batch yarns. The eBook is available on Ravelry, or you can purchase a print book + eBook bundle at our website, tightlyknitdesigns.com

Some yarns have a way of letting you know, more or less immediately, what they demand to be made into, and this skein of Jill Draper’s Empire was one of them, calling out for dense, dramatic cables. Warm, cozy, and endlessly practical, these mitts feature a bold central cable panel that highlights the subtle variegations in Jill’s beautiful yarn. The central cable panel flows from end to end for a sophisticated, modern look that works up fast and wears well.
